ATTACHMENT (Y/N): NO ITEM # 07
GOVERNMENT CODE § 84308 APPLIES: NO
RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Council, by Motion, accept the bid from Greater Southern California Towing, Inc., in the amount of $107,410, to provide as needed towing services for city- owned vehicles for a one-year period with up to four one-year optional renewals; and authorize the Purchasing Agent to exercise the renewal options, all in accordance with Bid #9711.

DISCUSSION:

Purchasing solicited bids from known contractors and posted the bid on the City’s bid portal. Sealed bids were received by 2:00 p.m., August 15, 2023, from the following contractors and were publicly opened immediately thereafter.

Bidder Total Bid
Greater Southern California Towing, Inc. $ 107,410.00
Santa Ana, CA
Pacific Towing Inc. $ 112,637.51
Anaheim, CA
Archie’s Towing $ 209,035.00
Orange, CA
PH Enterprises Inc. $ 214,375.00

The bid was based on an annual estimate of towing service requests for city vehicles.

The service is to include the towing of automobiles, light and medium duty trucks, heavy duty trucks, specialty vehicles, and equipment from various facilities to and from the City’s fleet yard as well as numerous repair locations. Having access to these services ensures that towing assistance is always available to address vehicle needs.
