Acceptance of Bid for Tree Maintenance Services for the Anaheim Resort Maintenance District (West) and the Anaheim Convention Center
September 26, 2023
Golden West Arbor Services Inc. $ 1,645,750.00
Pomona, CA
There are approximately 3,357 trees in the western portion of the Anaheim Resort Maintenance District, and 684 palm and canopy trees within the Anaheim Convention Center that require trimming maintenance to preserve their strength and appearance as well as provide a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment for all guests. The bid was based on the trimming cost per tree multiplied by the annual frequency of service required to maintain these trees in a healthy state.
The term of the agreement will be for a one-year period with up to four one-year optional renewals. Unit pricing is fixed for the initial one-year base period. Pricing for the renewal periods shall be negotiated each year with any increases not-to-exceed the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim areas for the most recent available 12-month period. Increases in direct labor shall also be negotiated limiting any change to the CPI and the actual amount of any increase in the prevailing wage.
The 20% contingency is recommended to provide the ability to address any unforeseen service requirements that may arise during the term of the agreement.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Sufficient funds are available in the Public Works Department’s Fiscal Year 2023/24 Operations budget from restricted Resort Maintenance District funds and the Anaheim’s Convention Center’s budget for Fiscal Year 2023/24. Funding for subsequent years will be subject to Council’s approval of budget appropriations.
