knowing it has been done correctly with the due diligence required.

Our licensed surveyors will also provide mapping for the work provided and are well acquainted with National Mapping Standards, Subdivision Map Act, Public Resources Code, and the PLS Act.

As company president I regularly attend Greenbook Committee meetings to ensure that our company is up to date on all construction specifications for Public Works projects. I recently rewrote the Long Beach City subdivision ordinances to update the subdivision code to accomodate the new SB9 and SB10 housing laws.

Together with our subconsultant DMI, our company possesses the expertise and credentials to cover all the disciplines and subdisciplines outlined in the RFP . We request consideration for each of them.

D. Woolley staff knows what it takes to be a successful partner with a public agency to get projects completed on time and in a safe manner.

Each of our field personnel is required to wear boots, long pants, light blue collared long sleeve shirts and safety vests before starting work each day.

We believe in projecting a professional image and that begins and ends with safety. D. Woolley crews must also prepare a daily tailboard of job hazard analysis prior to beginning work. We consider this our own “Permit to Work”; without it being transmitted, field crews may not begin work. All field personnel have also been certified to CalTrans standards for Temporary Traffic Control as much of our work involves working in streets to recover centerline monuments or for design topographic surveying.

At D. Woolley, we place a high emphasis on training, certifications, and ongoing education. Our team boasts a range of certifications, including FAA Part 107 for sUAS operations, NULCA Utility Locator certification for SUE, and GIS specializations. This ensures we stay updated on every facet of land surveying and mapping.

I look toward the future and the opportunity to apply our expertise for the City. As President I am authorized to bind D. Woolley & Associates to negotiate for the organization. If I can be of any assistance, please call me at (714) 734-8462 or e-mail me at [email protected].

Sincerely,
D. Woolley & Associates, Inc.

David E. Woolley, PLS
President

SCOPE OF SERVICES - CONSTRUCTION SURVEYING / ST AKING
D. Woolley currently has on-call surveying and staking
contracts with the City of Anaheim, Port of Long Beach, County of Orange at all County Sanitary Landfills, Orange County Sanitation District, City of Long Beach, Long
Beach Gas and Oil, Fluor Enterprises and Orange County
Surveyor’s Office, to name a few. We have worked
on various scale construction projects ranging from
simple street improvements to moving several million
yards of dirt, tunnels, rail yards and large structures at oil refineries. We understand the need to carefully review plan sets for constructibility and to ensure that the contractor meets the specifications. Mr. Woolley
personally worked on and supervised many large scale
construction surveying projects including a $3 bil.
project at Pier G, in the Port of Long Beach. He is familiar with the unique challenges of working with contractors, engineers, and project managers.

In Anaheim specifically we provided on-call construction surveying and staking for the State College Blvd sewerline replacement for the Orange County Sanitation District.

This project spanned four miles and included pre and post construction corner records for monument preservation,
setting project control, construction staking, etc. See graphic.

D. Woolley was involved in the expansion of the rail yard located at Pier E ($800,000 work completed on a $1 mil. contract) for the Port of Long Beach.

This contract has included the topographic surveying of the proposed rail yard areas, QA/QC surveying for the concrete treated base (CTB) underlayment and the staking of easements, underground utilities, buildings, dry utilities, storm drains, sewers and other pertinent items.

D. Woolley has also established a GPS control network within the rail yard. This network has allowed Port employees, as well as other construction professionals, to easily identify an area of work and allow for accurate check-ins to the existing control set by our firm.

In downtown Santa Ana D. Woolley staff provided on-call construction surveying for an underground chiller line for the County under a contract with Jacobs Engineering & ARB.

This work is predominantly done at night so as to not disrupt traffic too heavily. We know how to coordinate and communicate effectively with the trades to get work done, whatever the hour we are there.

All projects have included a wide range of focus including tunnels, underground utilities,

buildings, street excavations and confined spaces.

MONUMENT PRESERVATION
D. Woolley is well versed in the laws governing land surveyors in the state of California. We understand the importance of accurate monument descriptions, accurate measurements
of existing ties and thorough field notes when preserving monuments prior to construction. Mr. Woolley is currently working with the local joint professional practices committee (JPPC) and State Land Surveyors organization to better regulate the perpetuation of survey monuments during construction and rehabilitation of public rights-of-way.

D. Woolley survey crews are experts in monument preservation having reviewed over 1,300 monuments for the City of
Thousand oaks in the last three years. We recently completed monument preservation services for the City of Thousand Oaks perpetuating over 1,000 monuments for the City, filing pre and post Corner Records/Record of Surveys.

Our survey crews are deployed prior to construction to determine which monuments will need to be preserved and report those findings to the public agency in charge of construction.

D. Woolley has provided monument preservation service for the City of Anaheim for several neighborhoods and business districts within the city.

VERTICAL AND HORIZONT AL CONTROL
If asked to provide a project with vertical and horizontal control values based on NAVD88 and the California Coordinate System 1983, D. Woolley would use Static GPS receivers to occupy a minimum of three onsite primary control points with 2.000 meter fixed height tripods for 15 minute sessions with ties to a minimum of two California Spatial Reference Network Stations or GPS monuments published by the Orange County Surveyor’s office.

The horizontal values would be constrained to the project epoch, if already existing, or the most recently published epoch of 2017.50 and the vertical values would be constrained to the project geoid, if already existing, or the most recently published GEOID18. This process would achieve the desired results for horizontal and vertical control in itself. However, if the City Surveyor requires the project to be tied to County benchmark, D. Woolley would run a traditional level loop to the nearest published benchmark using a digital level and bar code rod. In addition to the primary control GPS ties to published Stations or monuments, all remaining control points are double determined or occupied using a total station (High Precision Trimble S6 - 1” accuracy) or Static GPS receiver as described above. All processing of measurements, both GPS and conventional, is performed using a Least Square Adjustment As part of any monument
preservation task D. Woolley
records all aspects of
monuments found.

software (Starnet v.10.0).

D. Woolley is very familiar with establishing this type of control. D. Woolley has populated and maintained a City wide GPS network for the City of Long Beach since 2006, wrote the specifications for the City of Oceanside’s GPS network and was on the selection panel to award the contract, has populated and maintained control networks for Orange County Waste and Recycling at the local landfills and most recently established over 100 horizontal and vertical control points, with mapping, for the Torrance refinery covering approximately 700 acres.

D. Woolley provided surveying services to establish a precise control network for the Exxon/ Mobil Refinery in Torrance, California. Survey crews set over 100 control monuments no more than 600 feet apart, ensuring intervisibility between at least three monuments. The relative horizontal accuracy achieved was 0.02’ at one sigma and 0.01’ for vertical. The establishment of the horizontal and vertical measurements were provided using separate surveying processes. Traditional surveying methods including Trimble S6 1” Total Station traverses, GPS point collection, and precise digital leveling, were all used for this project.

D. Woolley established a cross-referenced coordinate system for our client, and in order to establish this system, survey crews recovered 10 horizontal and 10 vertical points and tied them into the control network. We worked with the client to create a custom monument to suit the site specific needs of the refinery. Each survey crew member went through Refinery Safety Operations training and contributed to a safe and successful project completion.

PREPARATION OF MAPS, RECORDS OF SURVEY , CORNER RECORDS, AND OTHER

OFFICIAL RECORDS
Subdivision Mapping
Our office has prepared many subdivision maps, both Final (Tract) Maps and Parcel Maps, in multiple jurisdictions, including Anaheim. We have prepared the tentative maps through to recordation of the subdivision map. We pride ourselves on being able to file a map with no more than one review by the agency. Please check our references as to this claim.

Records of Survey and Corner Records
In the last five years D. Woolley & Associates has filed more Records of Survey in Orange County than the three largest firms…combined. We have earned our reputation as being willing to take the time to complete the project correctly and withstand the scrutiny of judicial review.

Mr. Woolley has checked or supervised the checking of Records of Survey, Parcel Map and Tract Map submittals to the Orange County Surveyor’s office for 6 years, from 1988-1994 and 15 years for the City of Long Beach. He was responsible for compliance with state laws, local ordinances, boundary determination and resolution of complex title issues. He has personally reviewed over 1200 Tract Maps, 600 Parcel Maps and 400 Records of Survey for 4 A California Certified Micro Business Enterprise

compliance with state law and local ordinances.

Conveyance Document Preparation
We have prepared all forms of recorded documents, grant deeds, quit claim deeds, vacation documents, easements and licenses. We work closely with the attorneys on the periphery language associated with these document types. We also work with the various agency officials to get the required approvals in preparing the documents. As City Surveyor Dave Woolley prepared these documents for all City conveyances.

LEGAL DESCRIPTIONS AND BOUNDARY CONTROL
D. Woolley performed various survey tasks for the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority. This contract includes field survey of existing park and ride facilities, chain of title research, boundary determination, filing of records of survey, determination of right of way takes (if any), legal descriptions/exhibits to be written, plats and other surveying tasks.

There is necessary communication between multiple levels of state, municipal and local agencies in the conveyance of documents from the California Department of Transportation through to Metro.

Additionally, Mr. Woolley was the Interim City Surveyor for the 7th largest city in the state, Long Beach. This assignment required that he report to and work at City Hall 20-30 hours a week. As the Interim City Surveyor he was responsible for supervising the technical aspects of city employees work, coordinating with the engineering, planning, construction, right of way, city attorney, airport and water department staff. The workload was augmented by D.

Woolley staff. We were responsible for reviewing all legal descriptions, plats, maps, corner records and construction plans performed by the private sector and in-house within the City limits. As part of this duty, we wrote specifications for the engineering section to include in the project specifications.

TOPOGRAPHIC MAPPING, INCLUDING TERRESTRIAL LIDAR
D. Woolley has the proud distinction of being an on-call surveying firm for County of Los Angeles, US Forestry Service, Fluor Enterprises, City of Long Beach, Port of Long Beach, Long Beach Gas & Oil, City of Anaheim, LA Metro, County of Orange and Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. As such, we have worked from Orange County and Los Angeles County all the way to Contra Costa County on a few of the largest design and construction projects in California. The last two projects required approximately 30 pages of topographic mapping, which included underground sanitary sewer lines, storm water and overhead lines. The level of detail and our overall mapping experience has saved the project from unnecessary costs due to incorrect or missing data. We utilize conventional surveying with robotic total stations and GPS. Topographic, boundary and horizontal control mapping in AutoCad formats, Horizontal Least Squares Adjustments (NAD-27 and NAD-83) and Vertical Control Least Squares Adjustments (NGVD-29 and NAVD-88). 5 A California Certified Micro Business Enterprise

D. Woolley currently has a $3 mil. contract with the City of Long Beach to do topographic surveys, which include surveys at Long Beach Airport, several major streets and smaller residential streets. D. Woolley is involved with all aspects of the City of Long Beach Capital Improvement Projects. We were required to perform topographic surveys and monument preservation pursuant to Section 8771 of the Professional Land Surveyor’s Act. To date we have completed 32 separate task orders. The City required that each project be documented with complete field notes that are of a quality to be indexed in the City record. When required D. Woolley provided electronic surface models, point files and other deliverables in a format that the agencies require, typically AutoCAD Civil 3D.

D. Woolley consistently demonstrates expertise in offering survey control and terrestrial LiDAR across diverse facilities. This includes complex environments like refineries where accurate data capture is imperative for operational efficiency and safety. Additionally, we’ve successfully integrated Building Information Modeling (BIM) at hospitals, ensuring structures are optimally designed for both medical professionals and patients alike. Beyond these, our proficiency extends to various other infrastructural projects, each demanding a unique set of scan requirements. Integral to our LiDAR operations is the rigorous process of registration, ensuring each scan’s seamless integration into the overarching model. Central to our commitment is maintaining specified accuracy. We understand the profound implications of accuracy, especially when tethering LiDAR data to real-world coordinates. As such, every step, from initial scans to the final integration, is meticulously executed to ensure data integrity and real-world relevancy that can be integrated into our client’s CAD/BIM software.

AS-BUIL T SURVEYS AND SUBSURFACE UTILITY ENGINEERING
As-built surveys are essentially topographic surveys-which we have detailed extensively in another section. However, we acknowledge the primary difference between regular topography and an as-built is the timing of the work. As-built surveys, particularly underground, are time sensitive and oftentimes, must be completed in short notice. We have performed as-built surveys as part of every construction project. We always provide professional, neat field notes with applicable sketches and when required AutoCAD drawings.

D. Woolley stands at the pinnacle of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) practices, integrating both ASCE 75-22 and ASCE 38-22 for the comprehensive documentation of utility as-builts. With the adoption of ASCE 75-22, we ensure that all crucial attributes of newly constructed utilities are meticulously captured before they are buried, safeguarding accuracy and facilitating future reference. Simultaneously, our reliance on ASCE 38-22 allows us to determine the exact quality level required for subsurface utility investigations, ensuring our clients are fully informed before any excavation or construction activity commences. Unique to our firm, our survey teams are not just proficient but are also NULCA certified as Utility Locate Technicians, signifying an unparalleled depth of

D. Woolley is unequivocally at the forefront of sUAS (small Unmanned Aerial Systems) integration in the surveying industry. We showcased this prowess in a recent project, where we meticulously mapped over 1300+ acres at the Puente Hills Landfill for the County of Los Angeles. Our cutting-edge drone was equipped with both LiDAR and RGB sensors, delivering unparalleled accuracy with 1’ contours. The scale of this project was immense, demanding over 80 ground control points, FAA authorizations, and necessitating 40 precise drone takeoffs and landings. Collaborative efforts were imperative; we liaised seamlessly with various community stakeholders, including a community college, a sheriff’s academy, the sanitation district, and environmentally-conscious groups, particularly those concerned about nesting birds to the south of the project. The terrain posed its own challenges with over 900’ of elevation variance and the presence of power lines that needed careful navigation.

Through our experience, we recognize that while sUAS technology isn’t the optimal solution for every project, when applicable, it offers substantial cost savings to clients. Moreover, it often spares our survey staff from navigating treacherous terrains, ensuring their safety. 9 A California Certified Micro Business Enterprise

Puente Hills Landfill Redevelopment
D. Woolley Surveyors completed an extensive project for Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (DPW) involving topographic surveying for the redevelopment of Puente Hills Landfill. The project included aerial mapping of the entire landfill site using digital topographic map and DTM data, with a 1”=40’ scale and 1’ contour interval for DGN or DWG.

D. Woolley also established a survey control network using conventional and GPS survey methods, with horizontal control based on NAD83 and vertical control based on NAVD88.

The control points were strategically set throughout the landfill for the purpose of collecting supplemental topographic information and monitoring any movement due to settling.

The landfill was located in restricted airspace, D. Woolley had to obtain FAA authorization to conduct aerial surveys via sUAS. Over the course of 45 flights with a 900’ elevation shift, our staff set over 80 ground control points for sUAS with LiDAR and RGB sensors over the entire 1300+ acre site, making this the largest sUAS project in D. Woolley’s history. Upon collecting aerial data, field staff conducted a site walk to identify any utilities, structures, or unknown entities shown on the aerial map to provide a comprehensive understanding of the site.

In addition, we utilized various GIS technologies to enhance our understanding of the aerial maps created via sUAS. Using GIS, we created high-accuracy orthophotos, line work, and point data of the survey site. We used ArcGIS Field Maps to identify uncertain features, verify utilities and modify when necessary, and find missing infrastructure. Field Maps allowed for improved portability, data logging, and accuracy of GPS and GNSS. Our team also employed ArcGIS Dashboards, Tracker, and Survey 123 to improve safety, efficiency of data collection, and facilitate real-time project tracking and supervision.

Overall, our work on this project was comprehensive and thorough, meeting all of the requirements set forth by DPW. This project demonstrates our dedication to go above and beyond expectations by researching and implementing new technologies and surveying methods.

Our firm was tasked with providing topography of existing curb and gutter, along with documenting specific intersection conditions. As well as topographic survey data, we provided the City with updated centerline tie sheets for all intersections and a plot of the centerline alignment for curb construction.

Since the survey data was requested to be relative to the California Coordinate System; we recognized the opportunity to maintain a city-wide network of the control for these projects, and have done so at no additional charge. To date, D. Woolley has performed over fifty separate task orders for the City of Long Beach for boundary & topographic surveying and mapping. When the City Surveyor, Kim Holtz, left David E. Woolley stepped in as Interim City Surveyor. D. Woolley staff (David E. Woolley) has served as the City Surveyor five times over the last decade, with the longest duration being 18 months.
4101 Long Beach Blvd
D. Woolley has recently undertaken a meticulous ALTA
(American Land Title Association) survey for the property located at 4101 Long Beach Blvd. with the vision of its transformation into a city fire station. In pursuit of the most accurate and comprehensive data, we employed a multi-
faceted approach combining the strengths of both traditional and modern survey methods. This included harnessing the precision of GPS, the reliability of total stations, and the advanced capabilities of sUAS drone mapping. Our dedicated team diligently documented every minute detail and potential encroachments that could pose challenges during the transformation process. This approach ensured that every facet of the property was meticulously captured, setting a firm foundation for its intended development into a pivotal community asset.

Right of Way
Mr. Woolley has been the Interim City Surveyor since 2008. As the City Surveyor he is responsible for reviewing or preparing vacation documents, right of way dedications, preparing legal descriptions and plats, deed jackets, ordering and reviewing title reports.

In 2022 D. Woolley and Associates prepared the legal descriptions, plats, and deeds for the expansion and widening of Market Street – comprised of more than 50 properties.

Funding Compliance
Public works projects often rely on a combination of federal and California state funding, each of which comes with its unique set of requirements. As a prospective land surveying firm proposing an on-call contract with the City of Anaheim, we ensure our methodologies, tools, and practices are compliant with all pertinent regulations.

Our firm has in-depth knowledge and experience in labor matters, including labor compliance and prevailing wages when working on public works construction projects. All of our payroll documents are in compliance with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. We have processed Certified Payroll through numerous public agencies including the DIR consistently and without interruption to work. D. Woolley is registered with the DIR and stays up to date on all prevailing wage rates and classifications for public works in the County of Orange.

We are very familiar with Davis Bacon Prevailing Wage Standards and Regulations – 70 to 80% of our workload is paid as prevailing wage. Our record keeping for prevailing wage along with our other record keeping procedures provides a clear audit trail. Over the past five years, D. Woolley & Associates has had several on-call contracts that were 100% prevailing wage. Mr. Woolley teaches classes on prevailing wage to professional associations.

Federal Requirements
The majority of federal funding stipulations are detailed under the Davis-Bacon Act, which mandates that workers on federal public works projects are paid no less than the prevailing wages in the local area. While this primarily concerns labor wages, it indirectly impacts how we manage our projects and compensation. Our survey teams are compensated in accordance with, or exceeding, the local prevailing wages as defined by the Department of Labor. We maintain meticulous hourly wage records for all personnel and ensure transparent reporting to federal oversight bodies when required.

California Requirements
California’s public works projects are governed by the state’s prevailing wage laws. These are detailed under the California Labor Code, which mandates similar wage requirements as the federal Davis-Bacon Act, but at state levels. Our firm complies by compensating our survey teams based on California’s prevailing wage determinations. As mandated, we submit DAS 140 and 142 forms as required for public works projects.

In conclusion, our firm not only recognizes the significance of federal and California funding stipulations for public works projects but actively integrates these requirements into our operations. This ensures that the City of Anaheim receives land surveying services of the highest standard that are compliant, transparent, and reliable. 20 A California Certified Micro Business Enterprise

The D. Woolley QA/QC Philosophy
D. Woolley’s concept for Quality Assurance/Quality Control is to remove barriers so that each technician and surveyor can complete each task of the project correctly - the first time.

This starts with designation of individuals with appropriate experience and availability to manage the project, lead tasks and accomplish technical work. A second key element is to achieve a complete understanding and commitment from each team member regarding the scope of services, their project responsibilities within the work scope as well as the budget and schedule. A third element is to provide a structured process for review of the work especially for deliverables.

The QA/QC Process:

The D. Woolley Quality Assurance/Control Program places responsibility at a level closest to the production of each work element. This internal peer review process is designed to make improvements in survey procedures, calculation methods and decisions.

Levels of Review:

QA/QC Manager, David Woolley will provide guidance on field procedures and will review and coordinate with other disciplines as required to complete assigned tasks. Mr. Woolley will also provide an on-going review of the overall process. This work may include any procedure that will assure that quality control is fully implemented and working for the entire team.

Client Coordination:

Project Manager, Christian Maietta, will be the primary contact with the client for day to day matters. Mr. Maietta will keep the client informed of the project progress on a regular basis.

Progress reports will at a minimum include:
o Standard checklists
o D. Woolley schedule status
o Work planned for upcoming month
o Progress to date
o List of issues that may affect individual task orders In addition to the progress reports, an Action Item Matrix (AIM) will be prepared and monthly updates provided to the City. The AIM will identify actions to be accomplished, description of activity, date for completion and lead person/agency responsible for ensuring the action is completed.

INSURANCE AND INDEMNIFICATION
D. Woolley currently has on-call surveying and mapchecking contracts for which we carry the appropriate required insurance coverages. D. Woolley & Associates is well versed in state laws, local ordinances and standards of practice. Previously mentioned in our introduction, we are often consulted, as a specialist, by several of the large surveying and engineering firms in Southern California.

Mr. Woolley’s experience has always largely involved working with City and County staff members and providing QA/QC, oversight and coordination with engineering staff and city inspectors in multiple jurisdictions.

Project Manager - Pier E Terminal/Intermodel Rail Yard Phase 1 (The Middle Harbor). The contractor, Herzog-Reyes Joint Venture (“HRJV”), was completing $7 million dollars of work per month. D. Woolley, together with Port staff, provided the construction staking. The work included over 800 survey request and several hundred request for information (RFIs). This work required staffing by one and sometimes, two crews for long durations of time. We have maintained consistency in our service level by properly scheduling for our staff vacations, sick days and other normal unforeseen circumstances.

Pier G Maintenance and Repair Building Complex. The work consisted of rough grading, base certifications, precise control and alignments and other related construction activity.

The standout work completed by D. Woolley was the underground mapping of a 60” storm drain line that was failing. D. Woolley’s staff has confined space training required to work underground. In addition, we were required to coordinate onsite safety crews, off duty firemen with specialized training and equipment, to provide the required safety conditions.

The work was completed at night due to tidal conditions at the time of survey.

Complex Boundary and Title Review Issues. Mr. Woolley’s proven ability to resolve complex boundary issues is demonstrated by his retention as an expert witness for complex litigation cases throughout the state.

Project Management. Mr. Woolley recently served as the Interim City Surveyor (intermittently since 2008) for the City of Long Beach, the 7th largest city in the state. Mr. Woolley was responsible for the land surveying functions of preparing right of way documents (i.e. vacations, dedications, acquisitions, etc.) and/or checking the same when prepared by consultants, private property developers, or other agencies. He was responsible for technical supervision of City staff and coordinating between engineering, construction, right of way, the airport and contractors.

Additionally, as the Contract City Surveyor, he reviewed all right of way and land surveying work for compliance with state laws (i.e. Government Code (Subdivision Map Act), Civil Code, Civil Procedures, Streets and Highways Code, Public Resource Code, Professional Land Surveyors Act and the agency’s local ordinances). This requires familiarity with the laws and the ability to interpret them.

Dear Alicia,

As you work with our mutual insureds to negotiate the insurance and indemnity requirements in contracts with their clients, we wanted to provide you with some general guidelines about what is neither advisable nor permissible. While the following is not an all inclusive list, terms such as "agents,” “volunteers,” “representatives,” “successors and assigns,” “attorneys,” “lenders,” “consultants,” “subconsultants,” “contractors,” “subcontractors,” “servants,” “divisions,” “subsidiaries,” “parent company,” and “related and affiliated companies” are too broad; instead, we recommend that the parties to a contract, indemnity, and those requesting additional insured status should be specific. The extension of indemnity and additional insured status should be limited to parties in the contractual chain between the Owner/Client and the Consultant providing services. While it is appropriate to indemnify an Owner and provide additional insured status related to our policyholder’s actions or inaction that extends to the Owner’s decision- makers (its officers, directors, employees and shareholders), it is inappropriate to provide "agents,” “volunteers,” “representatives,” “successors and assigns,” “attorneys,” “lenders,” “consultants,” “subconsultants,” “contractors,” “subcontractors,” “servants,” “divisions,” “subsidiaries,” “parent company,” and “related and affiliated companies” (to whom our insureds are not providing services) with indemnity or additional insured status. "Agents,” “volunteers,” “representatives,” “successors and assigns,” “attorneys,” “lenders,” “consultants,” “subconsultants,” “contractors,” “subcontractors,” “servants,” “divisions,” “subsidiaries,” “parent company,” and “related and affiliated companies” are not specific enough to qualify as a "person or organization" to which additional insured status would extend.

Owners and clients should be able to identify by name any entity that is within the contractual chain and to whom the clients deem it necessary for the policyholder to indemnify and provide additional insured status. Other terms to consider include “partners”–which is okay if contracting with a Partnership or LLP; or “members”–which is okay if contracting with an Association or an LLC.

We trust this information helps you strengthen our mutual insureds’ position and rationale when negotiating contract terms with clients. If you remember that a firm's insurance does not change, but the way each client asks for or desires indemnity and insurance will always be different, that will help. We want clients to understand that it is the licensed insurance professionals who determine what will and will not appear on a Certificate of Insurance and Endorsement to evidence a policyholder’s insurance. We hope this is helpful and invite you to contact us with further questions.

Best regards,

Barb
