RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, ratify a recognition and approve recognitions to be delivered at a later date.
DISCUSSION:
At various times throughout the year, the City Council recognizes outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for their extraordinary achievements and/or contributions to the Anaheim community. Council has the discretion to issue Proclamations, Declarations, and Certificates of Recognition to these deserving parties.
The following have been recommended to receive a Proclamation or Certificate of Recognition:
Ratify Recognition: Recognizing the legacy of life long Anaheim resident and community advocate Josie Montoya. (Requested by Mayor Pro Tem Rubalcava) Recognition: Recognizing Anaheim Tech Scholars. (Requested by City Staff) Recognition: Recognizing Rio Vista Elementary School staff member Valerie Hubbard for her recent lifesaving actions. (Requested by Council Member Faessel) Recognition: Recognizing October 8 – 14, 2023 as Code Enforcement Officer Appreciation Week. (Requested by City Staff)
Recognition: Recognizing Anaheim Public Utilities employees for going above and beyond by assisting a resident restore water service to their building. (Requested by Mayor Aitken)

There is no budgetary impact.
