E: HCD’s Review of the City of Anaheim’s Resolution No. 2022-112 Declaring A Portion of the Real Property Located at 6501 East Nohl Ranch, Generally Known as Anaheim Hills Golf Course, (APN 085-571-24) as “Exempt Surplus Land”
T
hank you for notifying the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) of the City of Anaheim’s (City) determination of a portion of the real property located at 6501 East Nohl Ranch, generally known as Anaheim Hills Golf Course, (APN 085-571-24) (Property) as “exempt surplus land.” HCD reviewed Resolution No. 2022-112 (Resolution) pursuant to Section 400(e) of the Surplus Land Act Guidelines. As explained below, HCD finds that the Property qualifies as “exempt surplus land” under Government Code section 54221, subdivision (f)(1)(B).

Analysis
According to the Resolution, the Property is approximately 4,878 square feet in area and not contiguous to land owned by a state or local agency that is used for open-space or low- and moderate-income housing purposes. The City intends to sell the Property to an owner of the contiguous property.

Conclusion
HCD finds that the Property qualifies as “exempt surplus land” under Government Code section 54221, subdivision (f)(1)(B). The City is permitted to proceed with the sale of the Property as described in the Resolution.
