RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, approve recognitions to be delivered at a later date.
DISCUSSION:
At various times throughout the year, the City Council recognizes outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for their extraordinary achievements and/or contributions to the Anaheim community. Council has the discretion to issue Proclamations, Declarations, and Certificates of Recognition to these deserving parties.
The following have been recommended to receive a Proclamation or Certificate of Recognition:
Certificate: Recognizing Anaheim Public Library as the winner of Orange County Business Council’s 13th Annual Turning Red Tape into Red Carpet Awards. (Requested by Staff)
Certificate: Recognizing Jody Daily and Kevin Kidney for their nomination as the Cypress College Foundation’s Citizens of the Year for Anaheim. (Requested by Staff)
Certificate: Recognizing Mondragon Family Market for their 45 years of business in Anaheim. (Requested by Council Member Rubalcava)
Certificate: Recognizing Kareem’s Falafel for being honored as one of Los Angeles Times Hall of Fame restaurants. (Requested by Mayor Aitken) Certificate: Recognizing Al Baraka Restaurant for being on Los Angeles Times list of 101 best restaurants in 2023. (Requested by Mayor Aitken) IMPACT ON BUDGET:
