RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, approve and authorize the Chief of Police, or designee, to accept a donation, in the amount of $12,500, received from the Friends of the Anaheim Police K9 Association, which is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) tax organization (Tax ID# 33-09009952, P.O. Box 17882, Anaheim, CA 92817), towards the purchase of a new Police K9.
DISCUSSION:
The Friends of the Anaheim Police K9 Association will donate $12,500 to the Anaheim Police Department to be used by the department towards the purchase a new Police K9.
Friends of the Anaheim Police K9 Association is comprised of volunteer supporters who work to raise funds to assist retired police K9s and provide support to the current canine detail. The purpose of this discussion is to comply with the City of Anaheim Administrative Regulation No. 330.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
