RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, approve recognitions to be delivered at a later date.
DISCUSSION:
At various times throughout the year, the City Council recognizes outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for their extraordinary achievements and/or contributions to the Anaheim community. Council has the discretion to issue Proclamations, Declarations, and Certificates of Recognition to these deserving parties.
The following has been recommended to receive a Proclamation or Certificate of Recognition:
Certificate: Recognizing Canyon High School Girls Basketball Team for winning the CIF-Southern Section Division 4AA Championship (Requested by Mayor Aitken). Certificate: Recognizing California Highway Patrol Officer Ray Payton’s retirement (Requested by Council Member Leon).
Certificate: Recognizing Anaheim High School Student, Lilyana Balderas for Winning CIF-Southern Section Masters Champion and Placing in the State Championships for Wrestling (Requested by Council Member Rubalcava).
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
