1 AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE
ANAHEIM UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
AND
CITY OF ANANAHEIM
This Amendment Agreement is made and entered into this 7th day of March, 2024 (“Effective Date”), by and between the CITY OF ANAHEIM, a Charter City and municipal corporation ("City") and the ANAHEIM UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT, a political subdivision of the State of California, ("District") (collectively the "Parties").
WHEREAS, the District and City entered into an agreement on June 15, 2023, setting forth the terms and conditions under which the City would provide up to six (6) police officers in local high schools in order to more effectively deal with police-related issues that are unique to school campuses. (“Agreement”); and
WHEREAS, the term of the Agreement is from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2028; and WHEREAS, the Board of Trustees of the District approved the expenditures under the Agreement at an estimated cost of $718,800 for six (6) full-time officers, to be committed to full-time duties as School Resource Officers (“SRO”); and WHEREAS, the District and City desire to amend the Agreement (Exhibit A).
NOW, THEREFORE, District and City hereby agree to modify the Agreement with the following.
1. The City will provide the District with one (1) additional SRO to be placed in a high school or junior high school, for a total of seven (7) SRO’s.
2. The estimated expenditures under this Agreement shall be increased by $23,960 for the 2023-24 year for the additional SRO.
3. All other terms and conditions of the Agreement shall remain in force.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties hereto have caused this Agreement to be executed on the dates hereinafter respectively set forth. (Signatures on next page)
