ATTACHMENT (Y/N): NO ITEM # 16
GOVERNMENT CODE § 84308 APPLIES: YES
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, continue the public hearing of this item to the May 7, 2024 City Council meeting, as requested by City staff.
DISCUSSION:
This item was considered by the City Council on appeal from the January 17, 2024 decision of the Planning Commission. At the February 27, 2024 City Council meeting, the City Council opened the public hearing, received comments, closed the public hearing and continued its consideration to March 26, 2024. Information provided by the appellant during public comments included conflicting information on the total number of motel rooms at The Carriage Inn. Staff is requesting that this item be continued to the May 7, 2024 City Council meeting to allow for additional research and site investigations with the property and hotel owner to determine next steps, resolution of which will inform staff’s recommendation to City Council to either approve, conditionally approve or deny the application that is subject of the appeal.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact as fees have been paid by the Appellant and Applicant.
Respectfully submitted,
Ted White
Deputy City Manager / Director of Planning and Building
