DisneylandForward Community Outreach Update March 2024 In March 2024, the Disneyland public outreach team continued to connect with Anaheim residents and stakeholders to keep them informed about DisneylandForward and the public process. We hosted a community presentation to the Walnut Village Senior Center on March 13 to inform residents on the progress of the DisneylandForward project. Approximately 45 residents attended the event, were able to ask questions about DisneylandForward, and connect with members of our team. Our team met with members of the Anaheim Planning Commission and City Council. These meetings were used to answer any questions or concerns these members may have had as we move towards a final vote on the project. Additional meetings this month included a presentation to the Association of Environmental Professionals, a briefing with Supervisor Sarmiento’s office, and a briefing with the Orange County Labor Federation (OC Labor Fed). As part of our continued extensive citywide outreach, we deployed a team of canvassers who are actively speaking with residents and answering questions and concerns door-to-door. Additionally, we sent out an email program to hundreds of Anaheim residents, who previously signed up to learn more about DisneylandForward, to notify them of the March 11 Planning Commission Hearing. We urged residents to attend the meeting to voice their opinion on DisneylandForward and learn more about the progress of the project. Ken Potrock, President of the Disneyland Resort, and the DisneylandForward team attended the Planning Commission Hearing on March 11 and provided a PowerPoint presentation to the Commission and the public about DisneylandForward.
We look forward to additional outreach and will continue to encourage the public to participate in the City’s process at the Open House and the Council hearing in April.
