Hi Terry and Heather,
Thank you so much for your emails and direction so that we may bring the Anaheim Carriage Inn into compliance.
Son purchased the property in 2012 and no modifications were made to the building except for upgrading three handicap rooms to compliance in 2016. We were unaware that other changes had been made before 2012. We have an employee who has been working at the property for 32 years and acknowledges all the doors have been the same way since 1992.
We learned that the main item needed to bring the property into compliance is to offer 51 rooms for occupancy. We understand this will affect some room access doors, the manager's quarters, the owner's quarters, and the breakfast area.
We have selected an architect for the project. We also went to the city to pick up a request form to obtain copies of the original Building plans. Last week one of our representatives went to the Building Division and intended to get the Investigation Permit. We were not aware of the required fees and will return with an appropriate check payment.
We understand the building permits are to be obtained within 90 days and all work required is to be completed within 180 days.
