RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Ordinance, repeal Ordinance No. 6186 and with mutual consent cancel Development Agreement No. 2010-00002 by and between the City of Anaheim and The Irvine Land Company LLC and The Irvine Company LLC.
DISCUSSION:
On June 11, 2024, the City Council unanimously introduced the subject Ordinance in response to the request from The Irvine Company to terminate its Development Agreement for the Mountain Park Specific Plan (Specific Plan). Following adoption of Development Agreement No. 2010-00002 in 2010, The Irvine Company in 2014 conveyed the property planned for residential development pursuant to the Specific Plan instead to the County of Orange to expand the County regional parks system for conservation and recreation purposes.
If adopted, the Ordinance will become effective in 30 days.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
