RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, accept the bid from Equipment Depot, in the amount of $225,002 plus applicable sales tax, for the purchase of a Genie telescopic boom lift for the Anaheim Convention Center.
DISCUSSION:
The Purchasing Division posted Request for Bids #9803 on the City’s bid portal. Sealed bids were received by 2:00 p.m., June 20, 2024, from the following vendors and were publicly opened immediately thereafter.

The Convention Center, known for hosting numerous large-scale events such as NAMM, Natural Products Expo West, and BlizzCon, requires the use of an aerial lift to maintain and service distant and elevated areas—such as roofs, windows, and light fixtures. The existing aerial lift, which served the Convention Center for over 20 years, has stopped working and is no longer repairable. As a result, bids were solicited for a Genie SX-125 Acceptance of Bid for a Telescopic Boom Lift for the Anaheim Convention Center July 16, 2024
XC lift—a 125-foot aerial lift that aligns with the Convention Center’s operational requirements. Bidders were asked to provide pricing, including delivery, and had to be Genie lift authorized dealers. Equipment Depot submitted the most competitive and responsive bid. Staff recommends awarding the contract accordingly IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Sufficient funds are available in the Convention Center’s Fiscal Year 2024/2025 budget.
