The specifications noted that the bidder was to be a Cisco Gold partner level and needed to provide a record of their Gold certification. The certification requirement provides assurance that the vendor has the breadth of knowledge and competency in Cisco architecture and their emerging technologies to address this project.

The bid was based on the cost of providing Cisco network equipment including switches, modules, licenses, and multiyear support maintenance agreements. The Cisco equipment will be deployed to enhance redundancy and cyber security, while also replacing outdated equipment that has reached its end of life across 15 Anaheim Public Utilities (APU) locations.

This proposed purchase supports APU’s efforts in managing reliable connectivity, streamlined automation, and effective management of electrical infrastructure throughout the City. This will lead to faster network speeds, improved network security Acceptance of Bid for Cisco Networking Equipment and Licenses July 16, 2024

Sufficient funds are included in APU’s Fiscal Year 2024/25 restricted Electric Utility Fund budget.
