The bid was based on the cost of providing network equipment including firewalls, licenses, and multiyear support maintenance agreements. Firewalls will be deployed to enhance redundancy and cyber security, while also replacing outdated equipment that has reached its end of life. This purchase will improve network security, cyber threat detection, and monitoring capabilities that are essential to support electric operations.
The purchase of firewall equipment supports the 2023-24 Strategic Plan, Goal D – Foster a High-Performing Organization, Strategy 7 – Assess current technology to identify gaps and needs within City operations to better serve the community.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Sufficient funds are included in APU’s Fiscal Year 2024/25 restricted Electric Utility Fund budget.
