CITY RECORDS MORE THAN THREE YEARS OLD (HOUSING
AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT)

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Resolution, authorize the destruction of certain records of the Housing and Community Development Department that are more than three years old in accordance with the adopted Records Retention Schedule.
DISCUSSION:
The Housing and Community Development Department reviews records eligible for destruction at least once a year. Records that are no longer needed in the normal course of business and have been retained in accordance with the City’s adopted retention schedule, are listed in Exhibit A to the Resolution. Staff recommends these records be destroyed in accordance with the City’s Records Retention Schedule. No litigation or any other situation has arisen to require their further retention. As required by state law, the attached Resolution of Destruction has been approved by the City Attorney’s office.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Sufficient funds for the destruction of records are included in the Housing and Community Development Department’s FY2024/25 budget.
