The Anaheim Police Department firing range provides range access for weapons training to a police force of approximately 400 officers. To ensure health and safety in this training environment and comply with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, the City is required to perform ongoing range maintenance to limit exposure to hazards. The bid was based on providing firing range maintenance, cleaning and hazardous waste disposal. The services include preventative maintenance of the bullet trap, annual maintenance of the reclining rubber bullet trap and bi-monthly cleaning of the firing range consisting of ventilation system maintenance, cleaning of firing range surfaces, HEPA vacuuming, and hazardous waste disposal.
Acceptance of Bid for an Agreement to Perform Firing Range Maintenance, Cleaning and Hazardous Waste Disposal September 10, 2024
The term of the agreement will be for a one-year period with up to four one-year optional renewals. There is no express or implied commitment to a specific volume of services during the term of the agreement. Pricing for the renewal periods shall be negotiated each year with any increases not-to-exceed the change in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the Los Angeles, Long Beach and Anaheim areas for the preceding twelve month period.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Sufficient funds are included in the Police Department’s FY 2024/25 Budget.
Subsequent years’ renewals will be subject to Council approval of budget appropriations.
