1. CALL TO ORDER: The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:33 p.m. by Chair Beas.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Chair Beas led the Board in reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
3. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC COMMUNICATION: None.
4. SCHEDULED COMMUNICATION: Steven Kleine introduced himself to the Community Services Board as a new board member.
5. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES: Chair Beas presented the September 9, 2021 meeting minutes to the Board Members for changes and/or corrections. Board Member Barnett made a motion to approve the September 9, 2021 meeting minutes, with one correction under CALL TO ORDER: To be changed to The Community Services Board meeting was called to order at 5:35 p.m. by Vice Chair Barnett.
Second by Board Member Brio; motion was approved with two votes in favor and three abstentions.
Chair Beas accepted the minutes.
6. NEW BUSINESS:
A. Congratulatory Note for Gloria Ma’ae - Joe Perez reported to the Community Services Board members that Board member Gloria Ma’ae has been appointed to the City Council. Board member Barnett proposed to the Board to send her a congratulatory card from the Community Services Board.
B. Review of FY 2022/2023 CDBG Application Process - Joe Perez informed board members that he has been in communication with the staff from Community and Economic Development Department regarding the CDBG application process. Joe shared the proposed timeline and schedule.
7. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS: Vice Chair Barnett polled board members on their desire to go dark in November and December. All board members were in agreement. Joe Perez confirmed that a notification would be sent to the City Clerk information them the CSB will not be meeting in November and December 2021. The next scheduled meeting will take place in January 2022.
8. ADJOURNMENT: Chair Beas adjourned the meeting at 6:04 p.m. and reported the next meeting is scheduled to take place on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 5:30 p.m.
