DISCUSSION:
This project consists of the demolition and replacement of an existing deteriorated restroom building. Additional renovations include a new 687-square-foot colorful shade structure and the replacement of existing hardscape and landscape.
The project was previously bid during the months of March and April of 2024, but the City only received one bid on April 11, 2024, in the amount of $2,340,542.50. Because of the low number of bids received, City staff determined to not award the project and rebid at a future date. Staff then re-bid the project during the months of August and September 2024 and received six bids on September 12, 2024.
Determination of the lowest responsive and responsible bidder for the selected project scope was made in accordance with Public Contract Code 20103.8(d).
