RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, adopt an Ordinance, approving the creation of an inclusionary housing requirement added to the Anaheim Municipal Code under a new Chapter
17.40. DISCUSSION:
On October 8, 2024, the City Council introduced the subject Ordinance. The Ordinance requires a second reading and, if adopted, will become effective in 30 days.
The Ordinance reflects direction provided by the City Council for adoption of the program, inclusive of limiting the application of the policy to multifamily rental developments, with 35 rental units or more, and restricting the use of in lieu fees to the production of affordable housing. A Resolution adopting an in-lieu fee will be presented at a future meeting.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
