RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ANAHEIM RATIFYING THE SUBMISSION OF A REQUEST
FOR PROPOSAL GRANT APPLICATION AND THE
ACCEPTANCE OF A GRANT AWARD ON BEHALF OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM, AS THE LEAD PUBLIC AGENCY
FOR THE PROPOSITION 47 SAFE NEIGHBORHOODS
AND SCHOOLS ACT GRANT PROGRAM FUNDED
THROUGH THE CALIFORNIA STATE AND LOCAL
GOVERNMENT LAW ENFORCEMENT ACCOUNT AND
ADMINISTERED BY THE BOARD OF STATE AND
COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS; AUTHORIZING THE
HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
DIRECTOR, OR HER DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE ALL
REQUIRED GRANT DOCUMENTS AND RELATED
AGREEMENTS; AND AMENDING THE BUDGET
ACCORDINGLY.
WHEREAS, the State of California, Board of Safety and Community Corrections (the “Grantor”) has issued a Request for Proposal to public agencies, including the City of Anaheim, to submit applications, in partnership with Community Based Organizations, for the Proposition 47 Safe Neighborhood and Schools Act Grant (the “Grant”) to the Grantor; and
WHEREAS, in June 2024, the City of Anaheim Director of Housing and Community Development, by and through her designee, submitted an application on behalf of the City of Anaheim to the Grantor for the Grant; and WHEREAS, the City is familiar with the terms, conditions and limitations of the Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City is willing and able to conform to each of the terms, conditions and limitations imposed upon the Grant; and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded and desires to accept the Grant; and WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend the annual budget of the City to reflect and incorporate the funds awarded to the City pursuant to the Grant, and to increase the annual appropriations and expenditures in the appropriate City program to reflect such awards.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as follows:
1. The submission of the application for the Grant by the Director of Housing and Community Development on behalf of the City of Anaheim, a public entity 2 established under the laws of the State of California, to the Grantor is hereby ratified and approved.
2. The City Council of the City of Anaheim hereby agrees to, and by this resolution does, accept the Grant without further action of the City Council being required therefore.
3. The City of Anaheim hereby agrees to comply with each and all of the terms, conditions and limitations imposed by the Grantor upon the Grant, and the Director of Housing and Community Development or her designee is hereby authorized and directed to execute any agreements, assurances, or other documents that are required in connection with the acceptance or implementation of the Grant or the services described in the Grant.
4. Contingent upon the award of said Grant, the annual budget of the City of Anaheim is hereby amended by increasing revenue and expenditures in an amount equal to the amount of the Grant Funds awarded. The Grant funds will not be used to supplant expenditures of the City’s General Fund.
