RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council adopt an Ordinance amending Section 13.08.020 of Chapter 13.08 of Title 13 of the Anaheim Municipal Code regarding prohibited conduct in Public Parks.
DISCUSSION:
At its November 13, 2024, meeting, the City Council introduced an Ordinance adding prohibitions against obstruction of public rights-of-way and facilities, smoking in public parks and near schools and day care facilities, and selling and repairing bikes and bike parts on public property to Section 13.08.020 of Chapter 13.08 of the Anaheim Municipal Code regarding prohibited conduct in Public Parks. These prohibitions were previously approved by City Council and adopted by three separate Ordinances and are now being specifically incorporated into Section 13.08.020 of the Anaheim Municipal Code, By incorporating references of the Chapters into Chapter 13.08 Public Parks of the AMC, it will clearly define the intent of these prohibitions to ensure all constituents have a safe experience in our parks. If adopted, this ordinance will become effective in 30 days.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
