City of Anaheim
FINANCE DEPARTMENT
DATE: DECEMBER 17, 2024
FROM: FINANCE DEPARTMENT
SUBJECT: AUTHORIZE INCREASE TO MASTER AGREEMENT WITH
AUTOZONE FOR AUTOMOTIVE PARTS AND SUPPLIES
ATTACHMENT (Y/N): NO ITEM # 13
GOVERNMENT CODE § 84308 APPLIES: YES
RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, authorize an increase to the master agreement with Autozone, Anaheim, California, by $50,000, for a new total not to exceed amount of $150,000, to accommodate the increased need for automotive parts and supplies, for Public Works, Fleet Services Division.
DISCUSSION:
The Fleet Services Division is tasked with performing a variety of maintenance and repair services for the City of Anaheim’s (City) fleet of vehicles to support City Departments with their operational goals. Having a local auto parts supplier ensures that the City can swiftly acquire necessary components minimizing vehicle downtime for overall improved efficiency.
The cooperative contract with Autozone is currently valid through December 31, 2025, with the option to extend for one additional one-year period through December 31, 2026.
Autozone has efficiently provided automotive parts and supplies for the City for several years and has proven to offer competitive pricing and meet the department’s performance needs. They have a network of conveniently located stores, which leads to expedited deliveries, and have established a 50% discount for all parts and categories.
Authorization is requested for the Purchasing Agent to execute renewal options in accordance with the terms from Omnia Partners, Public Sector Cooperative Contract #R211201.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Sufficient funds are available in the Public Works Department’s Fiscal Year 2024/25 Budget. Funding for subsequent years will be subject to Council’s approval of budget appropriations.
