I requesthis removalimmediately. Histeam, aftermonthsof prep andtrainingfor the 4thof July2024, alongwithAnaheimFire, failedour cityandplacedall of us in danger.

I amin receipt, andhavereviewed, the 20 PAGES (est 30-40 callsperpage) of Fireworks ComplaintCallsfor the ENTIREcity of Anaheimto AnaheimPolicefromWED7/3 - SUN 7/7, 2024. All Callsfrommytractin District1, 92804to AnaheimPoliceDispatchwere CANCELED, otherthanone of whichofficer(s) statedtheysawnothing (July 4th).

AnaheimPoliceandAnaheimFire ignoredall of the pre-4thillegalfireworksconcernsthat wereplacedonlineon theirwebsitedevotedto thisissue. Yetnowthe AnaheimFire Departmenthasno records, not eventhe concernsaddedto theirownwebsite? As well, the majorityof Fireworkscall complaintsthroughoutthe entirecity wereCANCELED! On July18, 2024AnaheimDeputyCityAttorney, BrynM. Morley, respondedto mein writingvia a USPS-mailedletter. Theletterstatesthatmypublicrequestfor records pertainingto illegalfireworkshadbeenreceivedbut, "Despitea diligentsearch, the AnaheimFire & RescueDepartmentwasunableto locaterecordsthatfall withinthe scope of your (my) request."
I offeredsurveillancefootageof whathadoccurreddirectlyaroundmyhome, but APD neverrequestedto viewmyvideos. I placeda CodeComplaintandalsoofferedcopiesof the videosshowingproofof whattranspiredandwastold by Codesinceit is afterthefact, thereis no actionwhichtheycan take.

I requesttheCityCouncilto askfor an investigationandagendizefor theChiefof Police andthe AnaheimFire Chiefto explainWHYtheyhadabsolutelyNOCONTROLon the4th of July2024, duringcouncil! Of 20 PAGES, withan estimated30-40 complaintsperpage of city-widecomplaints, APDissuedonly28 citations!!!!!!! I wouldlike to knowWHOfundedthe illegalfireworkswebsitethatapparentlyno onewas monitoring. Was this alsoat the taxpayer's expense? Thefindingscomeamidgrowingcallsfor lawmakersto put responsible safeguardsin placeto addressthe harmfulimpactof socialmediaonyoungpeopleafter anotherwhistleblowercamebeforeCongressto testify that Metaknewits productswere hurtingkids.

In the newpoll of U.S. voters, conductedbyHansKaiserandAssociates/HartResearch, 87% of the electoratebelievesthat it is importantfor the presidentandCongressto take actionto combatthe harmsbeingcausedbysocialmediaplatforms. Thisincludes86% of respondentswhovotedfor formerPresidentTrumpin the 2020presidentialelection, and88% of voterswhosupportedthen-candidateJoeBiden. Youget theidea. Anyway, to celebrateback-to-schoolseason, I’ve gota storyabouthowschool-agedmembersof GenZ — that’s 12- to 18-year- olds — arefeelingaboutschoolandthefuture. Accordingto a new nationalsurvey, thosefeelingsarea littleworrying.

Schoolengagementis down. Themiddle- andhigh-schoolerssurveyed findschoollessinterestingthantheyusedto, andonlyabouthalfbelieve they’re beingchallenged “in a goodway.” Theproblemis acutefor teens whosaytheydon’t wantto go to collegerightoutof school.

Oneof the greatestdifferencesbetweenthisyearandlastcamein responseto the prompt: “In thelastsevendays, I havelearnedsomething interestingat school.” In 2023, 68% saidtheyhad. Thisyear, though, amongthesamestudents, thatnumberdroppeda full 10 points, to 58%.

GeorgiaBureauofInvestigationDirectorChrisHoseysaidatanafternoonnews conferencethattwoofthevictimswhowerekilledwerestudentsandtwowere teachers.

Thesuspectwasidentifiedas14-year-oldColtGray, astudentattheschool, Hosey said. Hewastakenintocustodyalive. Theallegedshooterwill bechargedwith murderand "handled" asanadult, Hoseyadded. Thevictimshavenotbeenpublicly identified.

Thesuspectsurrenderedwhenhewasconfrontedbyrespondinglawenforcement officers, BarrowCountySheriffJudSmithsaid. Smithdisclosedthatthealleged gunmanwasspeakingwithauthoritiesandthatthoseconversationswere "helping withourinvestigation."
FBIAtlantasaidonsocialmediaWednesdaynightthatcountyauthoritieshad interviewedthesuspectlastyearaboutonlinethreatstocommitaschoolshooting.

AccordingtoFBIAtlanta, theFBI'sNationalThreatOperationsCenterfoundthat thepostscamefromGeorgia, and "theFBI'sAtlantaFieldOfficereferredthe informationtotheJacksonCountySheriff'sOfficeforaction." 2 Thesheriff'sofficeinterviewedthethen-13-year-oldboyandhisfather. Theboy saidhewasnotresponsibleforthethreats. Thefathersaidhehadhuntinggunsin thehouse, butthathissondidnothave "unsupervisedaccesstothem," FBIAtlanta said.

JacksonCountyalertedlocalschoolsforcontinuedmonitoringofthesubject, FBI Atlantasaid. "At thattime, therewasnoprobablecauseforarrestortotakeany additionallawenforcementactiononthelocal, state, orfederallevels." All nineofthehospitalizedvictimshadbeenshot "in somecapacity," Smithsaid.

Updatesontheirconditionswerenotimmediatelyprovided.

TwogunshotvictimsweretakentoNortheastGeorgiaMedicalCenterBarrowand onegunshotvictimwastakentoNortheastGeorgiaMedicalCenterGainesville. All threehadinjuriesthatwerenotconsideredlife-threatening. A spokespersonfor GradyHealthSystem, whichoperatesGradyMemorialHospitalin Atlanta, previouslysaidstaffhadreceivedonegunshotwoundpatientfromthehighschool.

Inadditiontothewounded, multiplepatientscameintothehospitalsystemwith anxietysymptomsandothersexperiencingpanicattacks, aspokespersonconfirmed toCBSNews.

Thisisavery, veryfluidinvestigation," saidSmith. "Thisisgoingtotakemultiple daysforustogetanswersastowhathappenedandwhythishappened." Administratorshadearlierplacedstudentsandfacultyonlockdownasreports emergedonlineofapossibleactiveshooterattheschoolin Winder, Georgia, which isabout50milesnortheastofAtlanta. Officersweredispatchedtothesiteat approximately10:23a.m. EDT, accordingtothesheriff. Thepremiseswerecleared withinanhour, theschoolsaid, andstudentsstartedbeingreleasedtotheirfamilies.

Therewasaheavypolicepresenceseenontheschool'spropertyWednesday morning, WANFreportedataround11a.m. Aerialfootagefromthenewsstation showeddozensofambulances, officersandamedicalhelicoptergatheredin the parkinglotandonthegreenoutsideofthebuilding. At thattime, atleastoneperson hadbeentransferredintothehelicopteronastretcherandstudentsevacuatedtothe school'sstadium, wherebuseswereduetopickthemup, accordingtoWANF.

AgentswiththeFederalBureauofInvestigationwerealsocalledtothescene. FBI Atlantasaidtheywere "coordinatingwithandsupportinglocallawenforcement" in astatementsharedjustbefore12p.m. onsocialmedia.
