RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Ordinance, amend Section 1.04.960 of Chapter 1.04 of Title 1 to change the name of the Senior Citizen Commission to the Older Adults Commission and repealing Section 13.04.035 of Chapter 13.04 of Title 1 of the Anaheim Municipal Code relating to the Parks and Recreation Commission.
DISCUSSION:
On March 25, 2025, the City Council introduced an ordinance to change the name of the Senior Citizen Commission to the Older Adults Commission and repealing Section 13.04.035 of Chapter 13.04 of Title 1 of the Anaheim Municipal Code relating to the Parks and Recreation Commission (Attachment No. 2 – Staff Report). The ordinance requires a second reading; if the City Council adopts the ordinance, it will become effective in 30 days.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact. Funds to support the work of the Boards and Commissions are budgeted by the City Departments providing support and liaison.
