REQUESTED ACTION:
That the City Council, by Resolution, reaffirm the City of Anaheim’s commitment to being a Welcoming City.
DISCUSSION:
At the Council meeting of March 4, 2025, Council Member Carlos Leon requested a resolution reaffirming the City of Anaheim’s status as a Welcoming City.
On October 24, 2017, the City Council formally designated the City of Anaheim as a Welcoming City. As a Welcoming City, Anaheim commits to sustaining a community where all residents feel welcome, safe, and able to fully participate in and contribute to the City’s civic, economic, and social life.
The proposed resolution formally reaffirms the City’s commitment to being a Welcoming City and directs staff to continue efforts to communicate and work with community stakeholders, schools, nonprofits, and resort partners to foster a welcoming environment for all residents and visitors.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
