A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ANAHEIM ESTABLISHING THE
FIREFIGHTER TRAINEE JOB
CLASSIFICATION, RATE OF COMPENSATION,
AND PAY POLICIES
WHEREAS, Section 1.05.020.0103 of the Anaheim Municipal Code requires the Human Resources Director to maintain and administer the position classification and compensation plan; and
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Director has recommended in a staff report dated April 22, 2025, that the need exists to establish a non-represented, non-management classification titled Firefighter Trainee, and assign a rate of compensation for the classification, effective April 25, 2025; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Anaheim does find that establishing a new classification, rate of compensation, and pay policies for one unrepresented classification is in the best interests of the City of Anaheim.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Anaheim as follows:
SECTION 1.
The unrepresented classification of Firefighter Trainee shall be established and compensated as set forth below:
Classification Salary Step
Firefighter Trainee $37.81
SECTION 2.
The effective date of this Resolution shall be April 25, 2025.
SECTION 3.
The Human Resources Director shall be delegated with the authority to publish the authorized salary schedule in said Personnel Rules in any format meeting the requirements of the California Code of Regulations section 570.5.
SECTION 4.
The City Clerk shall certify the adoption of this Resolution.
