CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
City of Anaheim

COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
DATE: JUNE 17, 2025
FROM: COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT
SUBJECT: GOLF COURSE FEES
ATTACHMENT (Y/N): YES ITEM # 20-D
GOVERNMENT CODE § 84308 APPLIES: NO
RECOMMENDATION:

That the City Council, by Resolution, establish the fees to be charged at the Dad Miller Golf Course and the Anaheim Hills Golf Club, effective July 1, 2025.

DISCUSSION:

As one of the City’s enterprise operations, golf fees at Anaheim’s two public golf courses are reviewed annually to ensure that these facilities are able to operate safely and efficiently. A component of this review is an assessment of our place in the regional competitive market, particularly in the areas of course conditions and green fees. Staff are committed to providing quality golfing and customer service experience while supporting local charity events and providing affordable rates. In order to offset escalating operational costs, periodic adjustments to the fee schedule are required.

The current Dynamic Pricing strategy (also known as “demand-based pricing”) has proven to be a very successful strategy for our Public, Senior and Players Club green fees. Staff are recommending continuing with this strategy while increasing green fee rates ranging from $1 - $8 as depicted in the Resolution to offset these increasing operational costs:
 Water
 Minimum Wage Increases
 Maintenance Supplies
 Equipment Replacement
 Staff Costs
The Players Club monthly fee is currently $45 at Dad Miller and $55 at Anaheim Hills.

Benefits include discounted fees, advanced booking, daily range balls, restaurant and golf shop discounts. Staff are recommending a $5 increase at both properties.

Staff are confident that these proposed fee adjustments are reasonable and still very competitive with other golf courses in this region.

IMPACT ON BUDGET:

Additional revenue will offset increased operational costs necessary to maintain a quality environment for customers.
