RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, approve recognitions to be delivered at a later date.
DISCUSSION:
At various times throughout the year, the City Council recognizes outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for their extraordinary achievements and/or contributions to the Anaheim community. Council has the discretion to issue Proclamations, Declarations, and Certificates of Recognition to these deserving parties.
The following have been recommended to receive a Proclamation or Certificate of Recognition:
Certificate: Recognizing Mama Cozza’s Italian Restaurant as the 2025 Small Business Administration District Family-Owned Business of the Year. (Requested by City staff)
Certificate: Recognizing El Pollo Fino as the 2025 Small Business Administration District Young Entrepreneur of the Year. (Requested by City staff) Certificate: Recognizing Samuel Weinraub for earning the highest level of achievement in his age category at the USATF National Junior Olympics Championship. (Requested by Mayor Pro Tem Meeks)
Certificate: Recognizing Anaheim High School Chamber Choir singers for their excellent performance at a music festival in San Diego which earned them an invitation to the prestigious Festival of Gold in New York City. (Requested by Council Member Rubalcava)
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
