RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, ratify a recognition and approve recognitions to be delivered at a later date.
DISCUSSION:
At various times throughout the year, the City Council recognizes outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for their extraordinary achievements and/or contributions to the Anaheim community. Council has the discretion to issue Proclamations, Declarations, and Certificates of Recognition to these deserving parties.
The following have been recommended to receive a Proclamation or Certificate of Recognition:
Ratify Proclamation: Recognizing September 9, 2025, as California’s 175th Anniversary of Statehood. (Requested by Mayor Ashleigh Aitken) Proclamation: Recognizing the 40th Anniversary of the Girl Scout Troops at Orange County Buddhist Church. (Requested by Council Member Ryan Balius) Proclamation: Recognizing the 150th Anniversary of Centralia Elementary School District. (Requested by Council Member Norma Campos Kurtz) IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
