(MUTUAL AID)

1. PARTIES AND DATE

This Agreement is made and entered into this 1st day of December, 2025 (“Effective Date”) by and between the City of Anaheim (hereinafter called "Anaheim"), and the City of Corona (hereinafter called "Corona"). Anaheim and Corona may hereinafte r be referred to individually as "Party" or collectively as the "Parties."

2. RECITALS

2.1 Both Anaheim and Corona maintain as part of their public and municipal service, organized and equipped Fire Departments charged with the duty of fire protection, rescue, emergency medical care and other emergency services within their respective jurisdictions.

2.2 The Parties believe that entering into this Agreement will enhance the level of service provided to the area covered by this Agreement and the business conducted thereon by further defining the terms and conditions for the effective provision of such services.

2.3 The Parties believe it is to the mutual benefi t of each Party that the services of Corona be, in some circumstances, extended into territory of Anaheim, covered by this Agreement, and that the services of Anaheim be, in some circumstances, extended into territory of Corona, covered by this Agreement. Corona shall therefore provide "first alarm" services to the area covered by this Agreement until Anaheim is able to arrive on scene and assume its normal jurisdictional authority and responsibility. Anaheim sh all likewise provide "first alarm" serv ices to the area covered by this Agreement until Corona is able to arrive on scene and assume its normal jurisdictional authority and responsibility.

2.4 The Parties have found that having an agreement in place for the provision of mutual aid, fire protection, and em ergency services to be a mutual bene fit when the services of each Fire Department are, in some circumst ances, extended outside of the juri sdictional limits of one Party and into the jurisdictional limits of the Party. The Parties also believe that entering into this Agreement will enhance the level of service provided in each jurisdictional service areas by further defining the terms and conditions for the effective provision of such services.

2.5 The Parties acknowledge and agree that Cor ona's and Anaheim’s response to a request for assistance may be delayed or denied pending an existing em ergency or other demand on its equipment or manpower within its jurisdiction.

2.6 Corona and Anaheim are authorized to ente r into mutual aid Agreements pursuant to California Government Code Section 55632.
