RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, approve recognitions to be delivered at a later date.
DISCUSSION:
At various times throughout the year, the City Council recognizes outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for their extraordinary achievements and/or contributions to the Anaheim community. Council has the discretion to issue Proclamations, Declarations, and Certificates of Recognition to these deserving parties.
The following have been recommended to receive a Proclamation or Certificate of Recognition:
Certificate: Recognizing the retirement of Anaheim Union High School District’s Superintendent Michael Matsuda. (Requested by City Staff) Certificate: Recognizing Anaheim High School’s Girls Volleyball Team for competing in CIF-SS Finals and the Girls Flag Football Varsity Team for winning the CIF-SS Division 5 Championship. (Requested by Council Member Natalie Rubalcava)
Certificate: Recognizing Katella High School’s Spirit Squad for their collection of food and clothing for the community. (Requested by Council Member Norma Kurtz)
Certificate: Recognizing Peggy Au, Controller, on her retirement from the City of Anaheim. (Requested by City Staff)
