RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, approve recognitions to be delivered at a later date.
DISCUSSION:
At various times throughout the year, the City Council recognizes outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for their extraordinary achievements and/or contributions to the Anaheim community. Council has the discretion to issue Proclamations, Declarations, and Certificates of Recognition to these deserving parties.
The following have been recommended to receive a Proclamation or Certificate of Recognition:
Certificate: Recognizing Parsa Ketabi, a Santa Ana College student and Canyon High School graduate who won a national scholarship for community college students. (Requested by Mayor Aitken)
Certificate: Recognizing Holly Hagler's retirement from Meals on Wheels Orange County after 14 years as president and CEO. (Requested by Council Member Maahs) Certificate: Recognizing Steve Carroll, the Anaheim Ducks broadcaster, who is retiring after a 50-year career (27 seasons with the Ducks). (Requested by Mayor Pro Tem Leon)
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
