RECOMMENDATION:
Appoint Maria Evans, General Manager, The Viv Hotel, to the Anaheim Tourism Improvement District (ATID) Advisory Board to represent large hotels within the ATID boundary to complete an unexpired term, ending December 31, 2028.
DISCUSSION:
The ATID Advisory Board makes recommendations to the City Council regarding the expenditure of revenues derived from the levy of assessments, the classification of businesses, and the method and basis of levying the assessments.
The Advisory Board consists of seven (7) members. The two (2) hotel owner representative Advisory Board members are to be recommended by the Contracting Entity and approved by the City Council. The remaining five (5) members are a representative from the City Manager’s Office, the City Finance Director, the City Audit Manager, the City Convention, Sports & Entertainment Director, and the President/CEO of Visit Anaheim or their designee.
Rhanda Richardson from the JW Marriott, Anaheim Resort was recommended by Visit Anaheim and was appointed by the City Council August 13, 2024 to a term ending December 31, 2028. Ms. Richardson has advised that she is unable to complete her term and therefore an appointment to complete her term is necessary.
Visit Anaheim has identified the following large hotel representative for City Council to consider for appointment for the unexpired term, ending December 31, 2028: Maria Evans, General Manager, The Viv Hotel, Anaheim, a Tribute Portfolio.
Pursuant to Section 54974 of the Government Code, the Notice of Unscheduled Vacancy was posted and remained posted for ten working days.

IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Funds to support the work of the Boards and Commissions are budgeted by the City Departments providing support.
