RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, ratify and approve recognitions and to be delivered at a later date.
DISCUSSION:
At various times throughout the year, the City Council recognizes outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for their extraordinary achievements and/or contributions to the Anaheim community. Council has the discretion to issue Proclamations, Declarations, and Certificates of Recognition to these deserving parties.
The following have been recommended to receive a Proclamation or Certificate of Recognition:
Ratify a certificate recognizing George J. Gilliam, Elena Gilliam, Dr. Cynthia Smith, and Creative Identity in recognition of Creative Identity’s 30th Anniversary of service to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. (Requested By Council Member Kristen Maahs)
Certificate: Recognizing Logan Ostaszewski, Antonella Villa, and Shane Wexelman, students from an Anaheim Ballet Studio who represented Anaheim in a Ballet Competition. (Requested by Council Member Norma Campos Kurtz) Certificate: Recognizing Comunidad Madres Ponderosa for their contributions to their neighborhood.
