RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council nominate and appoint a voting delegate and up to two voting alternates to the League of California Cities (Cal Cities) Annual Conference, to be held September 23 – 25, 2026, in Anaheim, California.
DISCUSSION:
The 2026 Cal Cities Annual Conference is scheduled for September 23 – 25, 2026 at the Anaheim Convention Center. During this conference, Cal Cities will hold the General Assembly on Friday, September 25, where the membership participates in the development and acts on conference resolutions that establish Cal Cities policy.
Cal Cities bylaws provides that any city official (elected or city staff) of a Member City may, with the approval of the City Council, be designated the City’s designated voting delegate. The bylaws provide that each Member City is entitled to one vote on matters pertaining to Cal Cities policy.
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
Funds have been budgeted for the Cal Cities Annual Conference.
