RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council, by Motion, approve recognitions to be delivered at a later date.
DISCUSSION:
At various times throughout the year, the City Council recognizes outstanding individuals, groups, and organizations for their extraordinary achievements and/or contributions to the Anaheim community. Council has the discretion to issue Proclamations, Declarations, and Certificates of Recognition to these deserving parties.
The following have been recommended to receive a Proclamation or Certificate of Recognition:
Certificate: Recognizing Officer Angelica Mejia for her 31 years of service with the Anaheim Police Department (Requested by Council Member Natalie Rubalcava). Certificate: Recognizing Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva for her 12 years of service to California’s 67th Assembly District (Requested by Mayor Ashleigh E.
Aitken).
Certificate: Recognizing Nadia Martinez of the Housing & Community Development Department for being honored as an Unsung Hero by United Way of Orange County (Requested by City Staff).
IMPACT ON BUDGET:
There is no budgetary impact.
