Good Afternoon;
I'm writing this email to express my support for demolition of the Hilltop House remains.
As most of you know, I'm a lifetime resident of Apple Valley. My son and I hike Bass Hill and to the Hilltop House quite often. I've taken hundreds, if not thousands, of pictures of the property. I've made several YouTube videos, which one has acquired almost 50,000 views. I'm part of the Apple Valley Legacy Trail committee. So, it's fair to say that I've invested quite a bit of time into this element of our community.
Frankly, it's about time. The remnants of the original house and much of it's foundation is very dangerous let alone an eye sore to our community. The demolition should have happened years ago immediately after TOAV acquired the property instead of lingering for years.
What should have also happened long ago is following through with AVLT's general concepts of turning the property into a trail system, which would benefit this community in many ways.
I'm sure you will read into the details Steve Richard has presented to TOAV staff many times over the years. It is a great plan, which many in our community already support.
Thank you for your time and consideration for this.
