Based on all of the information, we have provided and continue to provide on a monthly basis our ask is to not renew the contract with AVAS. It is evident that other organizations can and do better, we continue to ask for oversight to ensure all pets and its employees are healthy and well cared for. These number are public and not based on our imaginations, feelings and our emotions. We continue to speak up against this as it is the correct thing to do and with this numbers can be seen as an epidemic. I encourage you to take a moment to just review the information we continue to provide and do what is best for the city and its citizens. We continue to voice our support for the shelter and its pets and overall, the staff whom we entrust them too.
We are aware of the volume however based on other local shelters some even in the San Bernadino County have managed to be successful. This is great for Apple Valley as it can utilize them as a resource and leave room for improvement. You are in a position in which the decision you make can help turn this around and put Apple valley Shelter become a success story.
We hope that our continuous presence and the up-to-date data will help on making the decision. We understand the position that you are and want to continue to provide added support and real data to help with your decision. We know that you were elected and with that position comes great responsibility.
