Dear city council members of the town of Apple Valley, California. I hope this email finds you well. My name is Diana Moody and I write to you today because I won’t be able to attend your city Council meeting this evening September 12, 2023.I am not a resident of the Apple valley town, but I do work with many rescues in Southern California, Northern California, and Canada as well, we recently have save quite a few dogs from the Apple Valley town animal shelter I read to you today with terrible grief, horror, disbelief, and disappointment. I write to you with my voice and the hand of my other brothers and sisters involved in the animal rescuing community because these animals have no voice these animals don’t speak but these animals to feel and the conditions that are undergoing at the Apple Valley town animal shelter Are straight out of a horror movie. I’m not sure if you have received complaints regarding specifically your “Rescue Coordinator “ by the name of Brandi. your animal shelter has a reputation that proceeds nationwide and all the way to Canada. That is definitely not good. People have reached out and gone to city council meetings regarding the horrid conditions that these animals Indore during their state, employees and volunteers have been fired and suspended for exposing these sadistic hate acts. Attach you will find the most recent video of an animal stuck and what they call the hot box meaning he or she is in line to be euthanized. Meanwhile, the weight without food or water, covered in Animal fecal matter of their own, and also covered in flies. My question is is councilmembers. How do you sleep at night knowing that this is happening? How does your rescue coordinator sleep at night knowing that this is not OK? No animal should be at a shelter never less to California shelter population and overcrowded Ness is definitely beyond limits yet the shelter is supposed to be a place like the word says of shelter of hope of resilience for these animals until they find their forever homes. It’s truly sad and with tears in my eyes, I write this email knowing that it might be hopeless and may be there might be no change, but also deep in my loins, I have the whole bright and high that someone might read this and make a change for these animals. These animals need us this needs to stop Brandy needs to leave. I don’t understand if it’s her personal pleasure to euthanize animals or if she’s simply getting paid to euthanize animals if she is receiving bonus for euthanizing animals. I don’t understand why this is happening California is one of the wealthiest states of America it’s one of the highest cost of living states of America , the budgets are ridiculous. The money that gets given to city programs to the city Council to all sorts of nonprofit and for-profit. It’s ridiculous. Something Hass to be done find the compassion in your hearts. Find yourselves to give dignity, and compassion to these animals that don’t have a voice of their own , I might not hear back from you or your entity or your representatives but I will continue to fight until this is taken care of. I think you once more for your time, and I hope that you can pay close attention to the video and investigate and not just cross your arms and say everything was done for that animal and he/she were already euthanized. Those answers are unacceptable .

Thanking you kindly for your time.

Sincerely,
Diana Moody
