Dear Apple Valley officials,
I am writing as an extremely concerned citizen in regards to the state of affairs at the Apple Valley shelter, especially the conditions the dogs are in prior to their euthanasia in the “hot boxes.” I have seen photos and videos of dogs in squalor, in a tiny room, with no water or food, and flies around them in squelching heat. This is so beyond inhumane and violates litigation. I understand that there is a major crisis with overpopulation, but there is no excuse for this behavior. These are highly intelligent and social beings, and this treatment runs contrary to law.
I am open to conversation about how to rectify this situation, but silence will not be accepted.
