To whom it may concern,
My name is Rev. Sozui and I have been fostering many dogs from Apple Valley. ALL were and are great dogs and were going to be killed the very day they were saved.

Some were malnourished, dirty and flea infested. Some were killed even though they had rescue interrest which is ILLEGAL according to a recent court decision.

Myself and our church community are appalled by what we see happening and will continue to work for the animals and make public the misconduct and abuse of taxpayer money at Apple Valley.

The shelter conditions and our experiences prove that:

1. the shelter cannot handle dogs coming in from SB County and simply kills them.

Thus they contract with SB County needs to be severed ASAP and NOT continued!

2. Shelter leadership is rarely on site and does not work in accordance with her contract. Even worse, she doesn't care about animals in their "care".

3. Leadership and staff make it VERY hard for individuals and rescues to adopt or rescue dogs. Instead they spend time stalking individuals and rescues on social media. This time should go to the animals!!! Social media stalking is NOT what taxpayers should have to pay for.

4. Rescues and the public are not notified about which dogs are in danger of being euthanized next.

5. There are shelters nearby that do MUCH better, rarely euthanize, have transparent websites with GOOD PICTURES OF ALL DOGS, are honest about which dogs are in danger weeks ahead of a scheduled euthanization, so rescues can work to save them. Thus they rarely euthanize.(See e.g. Moreno Valley Shelter). And they are honest and TRANSPARENT about what happened to all their dogs, while Apple Valley does NOT disclose, even when asked.

Our congegation asks you:

1. To remove the head of the shelter ASAP!

3. Cut ties with SB County, who pay Apple Valley $300/dog they kill via a 1+ Million contract.

2. Make sure staff is hired that actually CARES about animals.

3. Inform rescues and the public at LEAST 7 work days before a dog is euthanized, longer if the shelter is closed or partially closed on some days.

4. Provide all dogs with fresh water, blankets or towels, heating/cooling and food at least 2x/day, more for puppies and families. Clean stalls daily if not twice daily.

5. Introduce EVERY do on social media with good pictures and complete info within 1-2 days after they come in.

6. Inform the public ASAP AFTER a dog has been euthanized.

AND THE LIST GOES ON...

PLEASE LISTEN TO REASONABLE NETWORKERS AND ACTIVISTS like Don Michael Key, Veronica Golup and others. They are NOT LYING!!! Thank you!
Warmly, Sozui Sensei
