Healthy animals should never be killed, let alone as quickly and in the high numbers as is performed in Apple Valley. Routinely out of town (even out of state) individuals network these animals, going so far as to provide fees to rescues in order to save these animals from certain death. But often, the town is so quick to kill that we do not have enough time to sufficiently network (as was the case with last week’s mass killing, including puppies).

Why is this not a council concern? Have you ever taken your stipends and sponsored an animal? Have you ever promoted and networked these animals? When will you come up with a better solution? Because this is not okay (are you willing to deliver a fatal dose to an animal)?
Please do better. Improve spay/neuter programs, grants for public in need of food/medical expenses for pets. Work with local businesses for sponsorship, create a spreadsheet of rescues and send the euth list directly to those rescues so they can monitor. Work with other SoCal shelters (at the very least they may be willing to do a courtesy post on their socials, if not even take in a euth listed animal if they have empty kernels). Please reach out to my local shelters in Laguna Beach and Newport Beach.

Please do something, anything different, because your system is broken, and archaic.

Thank you for your time and consideration, Erika Terzani Newport Beach, Orange County
