Dear community members,
There is a need to address the over population of cats locally and the extremely high euthanasia rate at Apple Valley Animal Shelter.
More than ninety percent of cats and kittens are euthanized.
The community needs to address this high kill rate.
Many propose a community program of low cost spay and nueter to lessen the number of unwanted pets born.
This is a much more humane option than that of euthanasia. This type of program will greatly benefit the community.
Additionally, a humane trap, nueter and release program to limit the number of strays in a less distressing way for both community members and shelter workers.
Thank you for your time,
Karen DeBiase
