These two cats were never posted online for adoption to get the love and care they deserved only days in the shelter and they were put to sleep. They SHOULD HAVE HAD MORE TIME. PLEASE HOLD SOMEONE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS!

Good evening, Mayor, Council members, Town Manager, and fellow residents.
My name is Ross, a North Apple Valley resident who’s beyond frustrated. Our 2009 General Plan is 17 years old - expired, outdated, and failing us. State guidelines require updates every 10–15 years. We’re long overdue, and the consequences are everywhere: crumbling roads, endless truck traffic, hodgepodge approvals that destroy our "Better Way of Life".
North Apple Valley is ground zero, thanks to the 4,937-acre NAVISP giveaway. Recent approvals include the Watson High Desert Logistics Center - nearly 3.73 million square feet on 200 acres - rubber-stamped last August; Lecangs eCommerce center at 1.2 million square feet, already adding heavy trucks; and Cordova/Quarry at nearly 3 million more square feet, despite appeals exposing weak traffic and air analysis. These massive projects, plus retail like Hobby Lobby, Aldi, Dutch Bros. and Raising Cane’s and new subdivisions, are exploding our population past 75,000 - far beyond 2009 projections - without any real plan. You’re managing a 2026 crisis with a 2009 imagination, and frankly, we deserve better. The hodgepodge ends when your excuses do.
Families here are dodging potholes to school, children are dodging 18-wheelers waiting for their school bus, and breathing construction dust at recess, and we're all wondering how much worse it gets when Brightline dumps thousands more vehicles daily. Roads are failing - PCI in the poor-to-fair range, 52% of residents demanding fixes as top priority - yet, you approve more truck-heavy projects that pound them into craters. The 2009 Circulation Element uses obsolete metrics, ignoring VMT standards and NAVISP’s scale.
Brightline West ramps up construction in 2026, our station connecting us to Vegas and Rancho Cucamonga at 200 mph by 2029. It’ll supercharge NAVISP and bring jobs - but also gridlock, pollution, and strain on Highway 18 and Dale Evans Parkway. Without a modern General Plan, this “boon” becomes a nightmare.Your 2025 Complete Streets Plan is undermined by the expired framework - bike lanes clashing with truck routes, safety risks, enforcement gaps.
We pay taxes for vision, not excuses. Update the General Plan now. Deliver:
• Full PCI rehab and VMT-based traffic fixes.
• Zoning that ends spot approvals and protects our rural character. • Real environmental safeguards against sprawl and pollution. • Genuine public input, not developer rubber-stamping.
It should burn to run this town on an expired playbook while we dodge potholes, Mack Trucks, and dust. Your “A Better Way of Life” motto is a cruel irony right now. Lead or get out of the way.
Stop the hodgepodge. Fix the roads. Update the General Plan tonight - before North Apple Valley pays the price for another decade of inaction.
Thank you.

I am not confident this is the correct means to bring this to the Council's attention. If not, please forward accordingly. The below message has also been sent to Engineering via the Town's website.
Traffic control at A.V. Rd and Mondamon warrants improvement. At peak times, such as school dismissal times (Desert Knolls and/or A.A.E.) attempting to cross A.V. Rd heading west can take numerous light cycles. For example yesterday (3:45 PM appx) it took 6 light cycles before I could advance to a point I could stop next to a car attempting a left, to then cross. Traffic would only allow for 1 car to turn left, usually on the yellow or red. I witnessed frustrated drivers turning left in front of on-coming traffic causing potential accidents in the intersection. Traffic in both directions backs up; east bound onto Tacony and down Mondamon, west bound onto Kasota and again down Mondamon as far as Chapae Ln.
I have not witnessed a similar issue at the intersection and traffic at A.V. Rd and Tuscola.
I have a solution. Update the light so that east or west bound on Mondamon gets a green with a green arrow (I've seen both in the same lens) while the other/on-coming sign still gets red. This would not require additional lanes. I realize I may be making the 'fix' more simple than it may be but in light of potential injury and damage I do think this issue should be a high priority.
Regards,
George White
