If I were to leave Apple Valley, the decision would largely be influenced by the social climate and sense of community. While there are many positive aspects of the area, experiences with unwelcoming attitudes, racial bias, and divisive political behavior can make individuals of color feel excluded or uncomfortable. A strong sense of belonging, respect, and inclusivity is important in any community, and when those values are lacking, it can significantly impact one’s desire to remain in the area long term.

Consideration to cross town expressway with going through some express end to end alternative routes then available could take 30 minutes ro drive,
Anonymous 8 Days ago
We need retail tax dollars. AV is still the a better way of life in the HD.

Anonymous 8 Days ago
Getting these utvs off the empty lots and making dust everywhere.

Anonymous 8 Days ago
Better treatment and resources for unhoused individuals Anonymous 8 Days ago
Maintain the roads better. Better gang, graffiti, and animal control. No more Starbucks. Get an In N Out.

Anonymous 9 Days ago
Water! We need affordable water and sewers.

Anonymous 9 Days ago
Better Financial management, need Strategic Planning person assigned to be watch keeper of all that is going on to assure monies are properly handled and managed for no losses.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
We need safer, cleaner, more appeasing and appealing with good schools, better shopping, more jobs and things to do. Take a look at Palm Desert and those surrounding areas for ideas Anonymous 10 Days ago
We desperately need accessible (i.e. 24-hour) urgent cares, and another hospital. This is not just an AV problem but a High Desert problem. We cannot focus on economic growth without essential health services. Also, the animal shelter needs leadership and resources. This place is a death chamber. There are no community resources for spay and neuter or TNR programs, and zero accountability for backyard breeders and those who dump animals in the desert. The way we treat animals here is a reflection on the town's values as a whole.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
Bring ice hockey to Apple Valley! Something our youth will benefit from and nothing yet surrounding cities have!!
Anonymous 10 Days ago
It would be nice to have local safe hiking trails to continue admiring Apple Valleys nature.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
Bring back dumpsters for Apple Valley residents. Build more parks, even grass lots with a couple benches and a walking path are better than limited options that currently exist.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
Public safety is paramount. No more high density housing tracts. No more car washes or gas stations! More government transparency & accountability with spending and budget, better prioritization of town needs. Stop with the lawsuits, water co takeovers, et al, where WE have to pay a town attorney a ridiculous $600K/yr. Why is our town manager making double, and in some cases triple, the salary of the national average??? IMO, we do not need more growth, which does not lend to keeping the feel of what the town was 46yrs ago, and why I moved here to raise my kids!!! More growth=higher crime, more infrastructure issues!!!!! Anonymous 10 Days ago
Safety is very important to me.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
Sidewalks/ sewerage systems/ more roads to better the flow of traffic. Opening green tree road was a great thing we need more of that.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
Expanding businesses and stop putting the same stores, such as car washes, large chain coffee shops, five belows, bath and body works, ultas etc. maybe a Costco or Sam’s Club, tj maxx or homegoods. more restaurants and things to do locally. Affordability is important yes, but we lack the big jobs that allow people to expand and build wealth. Because of this I don’t see Apple valley being a place to stay long term. Fix up and fill the already built lots and empty units.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
Infrastructure, replacement, refurbishment of existing roads and empty buildings and improvements to road drainage. The sitting water during our rainy season is contributing to road degradation
Anonymous 10 Days ago
More cleaning of open spaces and roads.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
Update James Woody park to keep kids and parents safe while there. Especially during little league seasons. These kids deserve it
Anonymous 10 Days ago
Management to get permits moving (ex:High Desert Church!!!!) Anonymous 10 Days ago
Take care of and maintain our current infrastructure instead of trying to add more big chain stores. We don’t need a damn car wash or Starbucks on every corner. No more large warehouses north of the airport. More police especially around the “felony flats” area behind Target. Keep this town small, if people want a city feel then go to Victorville, it’s not that far away.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
Major road improvements. Control traffic. Too many people living here now.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
More law enforcement should be the largest part of the town’s funds it ahould focused on infrastructure and and community development that alone will keep the town safer Anonymous 10 Days ago
I’d like to see leadership to create spaces for underrepresented sub communities. There is a vast array of sports for our youth but no esports community events etc for youth. I’d like to see a safe space for this group to gather and meet outside of digital networking.

Anonymous 10 Days ago
Improving parks and more additions for the little ones such as water features or even an enclosed park for safety
Anonymous 11 Days ago
Quit destroying buildings that should be considered historic only to replace them with big box stores and empty shopping centers that eventually end up abandoned. Finish the Legacy Trail and fix the well at Horseman Center.

Anonymous 11 Days ago
Keeping local stores, retail businesses accountable for cleanliness to include inside ex. New businesses open up nice and clean for maybe the first year then after a year that nice sparkle starts going down.

Anonymous 11 Days ago
Super walmart, Kaiser permanente facility, costco, latino supermarket Anonymous 11 Days ago
Protect wildlife and All other animals that deserve to live here also. Remember they were here first not people or the buildings or business.

Anonymous 11 Days ago
I would encourage Town leadership to focus on thoughtful growth that balances development with quality of life for residents. This includes investing in safer neighborhoods, improving infrastructure and roads, creating more local job opportunities, supporting small businesses and allowing for national businesses to have a location that doesn’t require residents to travel farther, and expanding recreational spaces for dogs that have fencing. It’s also important to ensure future planning keeps community needs, public safety, and long-term sustainability at the center of decision-making so the town continues to grow in a way that benefits everyone.

Anonymous 11 Days ago
Listen to the people. The town leadership has their own opinion and they don't care what the majority of people want.

Anonymous 11 Days ago

Keeping the character is so important. A community credit union. Assistance programs to help the people with food, etc who need it.

Anonymous 11 Days ago
Create spaces for kids of all ages to enjoy.

Anonymous 11 Days ago
Keep free dump day to reduce dumping, keep free concerts in the park and other activities for kids and seniors, no to any data center, ensure water quality and low rates, attempt to fill vacant retail buildings, business and resident friendly atmosphere, keep roads and infrastructure maintained. Underground electric for retail unlike what was done at Jess Ranch Marketplace, which looks awful. Our low density, safety and "cowboy" community makes us a special and desirable community.

Anonymous 11 Days ago
Please fix your roads. I’ve been a resident here for a long time, roads used to be redone every few years, now, the roads around my home have gone 10 plus years without maintenance. Focus on maintaining and supporting what we have vs too much focus in bringing in outside development.

As town council stop stuffing your pockets and think about this community. Think about everything dollars you spend. How does it help this beautiful town, not how is it going to help you. Starts at the top to the button. Starts with the Mayor. To see what this town spends OUR TAXES paying money on, all of you should be assumed of yourselves. I love the Town of Apple Valley but Apple Valley needs to improve to draw in more revenue for the City and your surroundings, and keep the citizens of Apple Valley to spend their money in Apple Valley instead of the neighbor cities. Draw in businesses that Victorville and Hesperia don’t have.

Add new restaurants that Victorville and Hesperia don’t have. Also the City has a perfect idea regarding small businesses but instead of putting the Bath and Body works next to Target why not have the small boutiques mixed with businesses on Outer Highway 18 and maybe include mom and pop restaurants with outside eating establishments. I thought next to Target an 85 degree bakery or Nothing Bundt Cakes. Unfortunately Victorville already beat you to it. Why not try to get a HomeGoods or TJ Max? Neither one has that. A Cheesecake Factory Restaurant or PF Changs. I thought a Sam’s Club would be nice but Hesperia beat you to it. A Grocery store would be a great location on the corner of Highway 18 and Central. Why not think of a grocery store that is affordable like maybe a Cardenas. Granite Hills High School staff along with the County staff could benefit and also Lucerne citizens. Something also needs to occupy the corner of Navajo and Highway 18. Also build up the location area where Fries Galore is, and the downtown area near City Hall. There should be more restaurants in that area due to Holiday luncheon parties or Birthdays. Something that makes visitors feel welcomed and the City looks inviting. Apple Valley has potential and we need to take advantage of it. Nothing ever remains the same. Change can be scary, but we will never know unless we try.

Property and home owners that neglect their property and aren't held accountable. Owners aren't sited and required to maintain their property. Vacant lots left to become town dumping sites. Trash, rundown homes, dead brush/trees that are fire hazards...., vacant property full of weeds and trash, all of these things lower the property values and won't attract new responsible property owners. Being told "it isn't too bad". I travel to various parts of the country to desert climates, and I never ever see this degree of trash everywhere. After living here for over 40 years this would be my reason for leaving.
