1 A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcata was held on the above date at 3:32 p.m. with Mayor Matthews presiding. Notice of this meeting was posted on June 18, 2024.
PRESENT: Matthews, Atkins-Salazar, Schaefer. ABSENT: Stillman, White. STAFF PRESENT: City Manager Diemer, Human Resources/Administrative Services Director Vink, City Clerk Varley.

NEW BUSINESS
A. Adopt the Successor Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Arcata and Arcata Police Association for July 1, 2024–June 30, 2027, and Authorize the Mayor to Execute; and Adopt Resolution No. 234-63, A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Arcata Amending the Class and Pay Resolution for Arcata Police Association [Reflecting the Negotiated Salary Increases for Term of the Successor Memorandum of Understanding, Effective the First Full Pay Period after Council Adoption].
Mayor Matthews reported that the item had been discussed in closed session at previous City Council meetings and invited questions from Human Resources/Administrative Services Director Vink and the Council if they had any. There was no additional discussion.
ON MOTION BY ATKINS-SALAZAR, SECONDED BY SCHAEFER, AND WITH A
THREE-TO-ZERO VOICE VOTE WITH TWO ABSENCES, THE CITY COUNCIL
ADOPTED THE SUCCESSOR MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF ARCATA AND ARCATA POLICE ASSOCIATION FOR JULY 1, 2024- JUNE 30, 2027, AUTHORIZED THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE; AND ADOPTED RESOLUTION NO. 234-63, A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARCATA AMENDING THE CLASS AND PAY RESOLUTION FOR ARCATA POLICE ASSOCIATION. AYES: MATTHEWS, ATKINS-SALAZAR, SCHAEFER.
NOES: NONE. ABSENT: STILLMAN, WHITE. ABSTENTIONS: NONE.
