Mayor White called the meeting to order.
2. LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
Mayor White read a statement acknowledging that Arcata sat on ancestral Wiyot land.
3. ROLL CALL
Deputy City Clerk Redfern and Director of Community Development Loya called roll.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT
Mayor White invited public comment.

Colin Fiske, Joanne McGarry, and an unidentified member of the audience.
Mayor White closed the public comment period.
5. DISCUSSION

Consider Amendments to the Land Use Code and Policy Updates to Create Consistency Between the General Plan 2045 and Zoning.

Senior Planner Freitas provided an informational handout regarding the General Plan 2045.
Director of Community Development Loya presented.
Director Loya responded to inquiries and comments from the Council and Planning Commission.
BY GENERAL CONSENSUS, THE COUNCIL AND THE PLANNING COMMISSION AGREED TO FOREGO NEIGHBOURHOOD CONSERVATION AREAS, LEAVING ONLY RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL DISTRICTS.
Certain direction was given, but no Council action was taken.

Provide Direction on Housing Element Timeline and Community Engagement Strategy.
Director of Community Development Loya provided a staff report on the 7th Cycle Housing Element Update.
Director Loya responded to inquiries and comments from the Council and Planning Commission.
