Mayor Widmer called the meeting to order at 4:03 PM
SPECIAL MEETING
ROLL CALL – Holland, DeGolia, Lewis, Vice Mayor Hawkins-Manuelian, Mayor Widmer – All Present
PUBLIC COMMENTS - NONE
ACTION ITEM
1. RECEIVE AND FILE THE MIDYEAR BUDGET REPORT FOR FY 2022/23 City Manager Rodericks introduced the item and noted that these budget adjustments are some of the largest in his tenure. He reviewed a few of the most significant adjustments and noted that the Town still has $1.7 MIL in ARPA funds and the finance team are looking at expenses that those funds can be used to offset.
Council held a discussion on the ERAF funds and Mayor Widmer sought clarity around how the County intended to disperse funds previously withheld.
This item will return to Council at the February 15, 2023, Regular meeting for a mid-year budget approval.
STUDY SESSION
2. REVIEW AND PROVIDE DIRECTION TO STAFF REGARDING LEGISLATIVE
ADVOCACY
City Manager Rodericks introduced the item and sought Council support for Staff and the Mayor to have the authority to provide letters of support or opposition from the Town on topics that are areas of interest to the Town.
Council discussed methods of providing subcommittee reports for future meetings.
Council discussed a desire to have input and ultimately provided support giving the City Manager and Mayor authority to offer legislative advocacy on topics with areas of interest to the Town.
